FERNANDO SINDU 

CHEF / OWNER

Fernando Sindu started his studies in computer science. He worked for Microsoft in New Zealand for several years, but always found himself feeling  restless. Looking for a major career change, Nando who always enjoy cooking, took a leap of faith and enrolled himself in the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York. There, he finally found his place. After that, he worked in several great places in New York: Brasserie 8 1/2, Oceana, and  La Boqueria as a Sous Chef. Having all the skills that he needed, he went back to Jakarta to continue working on his passion. He then met his fellow CIA alum Ivan WIbowo, joined together, and opened a private dining service named G48. They also made the first pop-up brunch concept in Jakarta, serving customers every weekend in different places with delicious American brunch menus. Now, they manage two kitchens: G48 and Umabo.

IVAN WIBOWO 

CHEF / OWNER

Ivan Wibowo had a very specific interest, food technology. He worked in Ocean Spray for several years, and found his job a little too stable. Wanting something more, he enrolled himself in the Culinary Institute of America, and ended up being extremely happy. After his studies, he trained in Jean Gorges, Nobu, and Noma. Pretty much he went all around the globe to try out some new skills. Too tired of moving to too many places, he decided to stay in Jakarta for good and decided to be reunited with Nando. The story continues and here he is now, managing two busy kitchens and focusing on his new hobby: making pies and ice creams.

THANYA PONGGAWA

OPERATIONAL MANAGER/ OWNER

Thanya began to savor food when she lived in Los Angeles to study business at the Pepperdine University. She loved the laid back Californian cuisine, as well as milky and sweet American desserts. Besides being an American food fanatic, Thanya is also a very detailed interior enthusiast. She has the eye, as we call it, and has this natural ability to put materials together, making it into a very cozy and stylish space. Goedkoop and Umabo are the products of her experiments. As well as her extremely cool bedroom that we love.  

 

AVANDA HANAFIAH

FINANCE/ OWNER

Born and raised in a catering company, Avanda began to like eating and cooking since she was very little. At 5, she cooked fried rice and sell it to her mother's catering staffs. In high school, she made Korean BBQ and sell it to her friends. Now, due to her Management background from UI & UQ and Culinary Arts from the International Culinary Center in New York, she juggles between being the chef for Al's Catering, finance manager at Eatphoria Culinary Consultant, and finance manager at Umabo. 

ALLESANDRA HANAFIAH

HR/ OWNER

Same as her sister, Andra was exposed to the culinary industry since she was in elementary school. Different to her sister who likes to cook, Andra loves helping her mother to take notes during meetings with clients. She loves talking to new people and get inspired by their experiences. Having studied Psychology in UI and Pastry Arts in the International Culinary Center, NY, she now does the recruitment for Umabo, Eatphoria Culinary Consultant, and make pastries for Al's Catering. Also to share a little, Andra did her pastry internship at Locanda Verde, NYC, which is partly owned by the famous Robert De Niro. 

PUTRI AVICENNA

GM EATPHORIA

Putri is one very talented general manager. We assume she has a photographic memory because she never forget things. Graduated with Magna/Suma (she won't confirm) Cum Laude from the Faculty of Economics and Business, UI, Putri sure knows how to juggle between operations and financial reports for both Goedkoop and Umabo.
